The Hijabi Cabbie: Jerusalem's Hottes Taxi Driver

This Article is quiet interesting..

I really liked it..
Living in such circumstances as those of Jeusalem's it is a great accomplishment to have at least a REGULAR job,not to mention being SUCCESSFUL in it as well.
I do agree that being a muslim might have stood in her way , NOT because of the fact of being a muslim as such , but the fact that she broke all the rules PEOPLE made on their own to judge other people.

Hats off to Mrs.Bahr..

I wish I was in Jerusalem at the moment , I wud've probably had the chance to meet her!

7agara bagara..

Hmmm..Now I actually need a new phone..

I have a couple choices:

- Either to buy an imate "which i really need" , which is really confusing cuz lots of ppl had trouble with imate's software and such stuff

-Or , i can buy a kinda not-so-expensive phone and a descent PDA as Dell or HP..

or i can just buy a really good phone and forget about the pda..

So i was thinking:
Sony ericsson w580i

or

Sony ericsson s5ooi

OR..

imate JASJAM

So what do u think ppl? Especially with the imate?

How to Sneak Candy Into Your Room..

According to WikiHow , this is the best way to sneak candy into ur room! Oh my god , who would even want to now how to sneak candy into his room , there is 100000 and 1 ways to sneak candy!

- Steps :

  • Go downstairs and complain that your throat hurts. Ask if you can take some water up to your room.
  • Grab a big cup that isn't transparent and run some water.
  • Quickly put the candy in the cup and stuff it until it's full.
  • Hold the cup by the top to keep anyone from seeing its contents.
  • Walk calmly past your parents, then up to your room. Enjoy the candy! (lol , even tells how to fake it!)

- Tips:

  • Don't move too fast past your parents. If you run, they'll probably know something's up.
  • If your parents ask to see the cup, just tell them you're sick and you need to go lie down.
  • Depending on the type of candy, you can actually fill the cup with water (just make sure you jam the candy in so it doesn't float to the top). Keep your hand over it, but if the need presents itself, you can "accidentally" slosh some of the water out, to show what's really in there. Plus, if the cup really has water in it you'll be more careful with it, making a more convincing look.
  • If its possible to trick your parents into going outside then do so, and help yourself to the mouth watering candy.
  • It is a good idea to buy your own candy if there is not a lot in your house parents might notice that there are some things missing.

-Warnings :

  • Do not use a see through cup. (uh...duh!)
  • This will not work if there isn't any candy in your house. (really?!!!)
  • Remember to brush and floss your teeth.
  • Candy attracts ants and cockroaches, which is the primary reason candy usually isn't allowed in rooms anyway.
  • Sneaking candy isn't always a good idea, as it's harder to enjoy it when you're anxious about being caught
when you have wrapping paper on the candy it is a good idea to put it in the garbage and then put tissue paper over it or something that covers it up so it can only be found if they are really looking for it .

This is hilarious ! Also check out How to enjoy a snickers!!!!

Why women drive with two hands and men with only one ??

This article was pretty interesting. Though I don't really agree with it , as myself , I drive with one hand , or most accurately 2 fingers!
I'm not going to start the whole women-shouldn't-drive-men-are-the-best topic, but I have one thing to say that is killing me. Why is it always a matter of racing/showing-off for guys when it comes to driving? I'm using my car to get where I want and not to race whoever comesup in front of me. Just get out of the house 5 minutes earlier and spare us all the misery!
What makes it worse is the traffic jam,I mean, really, soon something bad is going to happen if they didnt come up with some magical solution. Maybe they should limit each family with one car.Ughhh I hate traffic jams , ....and I hate parking lots in uni :( I never find a spot , it's becoming really bad , and still they are going to build some mall next to the main library instead of the parking lot. The "3uloom" area needs a a huge parking lot just like the one in Tarbeyeh.

Speaking of which , I started not using my car so often as a step against global warming. It's really sad if you think how it maybe after 10 years. So I walk whenever I can, use less electricity around the house and started using neon bulbs instead of the usual ones . My bro was like "ya 3ammi ma r7 tefre2" , bs well if everybody said that then it deffinetly ma r7 tefre2. Hopefuly everyone can make some change in his life bcuz it makes a difference for sure.

Now that was such a variety of thoughts. Ya allah my brain is so....dead :( Been onhold for too long...

Green Tea

Some people say it tastes like...grass. Well lipton's green tea does , but other brands taste really...refreshing I would say. It's like a treat on a boaring afternoon after a big meal on lunch. Absolutely refreshing.

So summer is here , nice weather , clear skies , very hot sun. As growing in saudi arabia I'm used to the sun , but I adore the kinda-cool-windy weather. Nothing to do still.

So my daily routine is to wake up at 7 ,take a shower and go to uni , attend the prediatrics seminar at 8 , round in the floor at 9 till...well perhaps 11:30 , then sit in the cafeteria forever to wait for the 2:30 seminar , which no one shows up to , and then go back home at 4 as a zombie. A friend would call saying "Heeeeeeey...weeeneeek....esht2teleekkkkk..bdi ashofikkk" and I go like "Heh , well I'm partially dead plus I have to be home at 8 just before dark so , I guess I will see you next weekend!" . Man , I became a very socially-lazy person. People got used to me saying "Oh , sorry can't make it" and I really hate it when it happens , but really , 3'asbn 3anni.

Eh well , all can b e done laterz.

Wis.dm

It's a new social network , this time it's about answering yes/no questions , a new way to meet people..Although I have no interset in such sites , but this one was kinda fun.. I think I would get bored of it soon..

here's an article about it from Time magazine..

_______________________________________________________________

Do bald people need shampoo? Good question. When Yuchen Long, 14, posted this question on the beta version of a new site called wis.dm on Monday, she got 63 answers in less than three hours, but no clear consensus: while 77% of respondents said no, 23% clicked yes. All those votes made Long's query one of the most popular on this new breed of social networking site that aims to bring people together based not on their school (as in Facebook), sexy pictures (MySpace) or job (LinkedIn), but rather on their own sense of humor and knack for keeping virtual conversations flowing.

Founded by Martin Clifford, a Web 1.0 multimillionaire who's back for round two, wis.dm aims to bring more depth and intelligence to online social networking. Unlike the most popular networking sites, which are more about narcissism (why else would you post 29 pictures of yourself?) and passive voyeurism (guess who your ex is dating now?!) the best way to enjoy wis.dm is to dive in and start asking and answering questions. And unlike Facebook and its ilk, wis.dm is fun to use even if you don't know anyone else on it.

"The world is not based only on who you know, it's also about what you know," says Clifford, who made his first fortune in 2003 when he and a partner sold the dating site udate to Interactive Corp. for $150 million. Clifford spent a year in Barbados before moving to Cambridge, Mass., to launch wis.dm with some $5 million in venture funding. (The "dm" domain name comes from Dominica, where the site is registered.)
Anyone can post queries, which range from the political ("Is ballistic fingerprinting an invasion of privacy?") to matters of taste ("Do you put Parmesan cheese on your pizza?") to pure fluff ("Did you have a tree house when you were little?"). The only catch is that your post must be answerable with either a yes or no — sorry wafflers, you're out of luck. The site keeps a public log of every question you ask, answer or post a comment to. It also lets you see who you are most compatible with based on your answers to all those questions. The most inquisitive wis.dm members post hundreds of questions a day, for which they earn points and a chance to make the "leaderboard."

Like the most addictive twitch video game, it's frighteningly easy to get sucked in for hours as you scramble to dream up witty questions, see who has answered them, scan their queries, answer the good ones, then circle back to your own list to see who has posted comments while you were away.

By Monday evening, the day before wis.dm made its official debut, Long was already ranked number seven out of the site's 6306 members. She had asked 1579 questions, posted 718 comments and given 2954 answers to other people's queries. Her breathless pace made my own 30 questions and 486 points seem pretty lame, but I did take a small measure of pride in knowing that my best post — Do you ever think about the one who got away? — not only got 32 responses but also five comments from people who wanted to explain their answer in more detail. After all, any fool can click a yes or a no, but comments are what really make conversations develop, and, hopefully, real debate and dialogue begin.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to make friends on here. The funny thing is, even after asking so many nosy questions on the site, from whether people like eggs over easy to if they ever kissed someone who they weren't all that attracted to, I'm still a little nervous about asking other wis.dmers to be my friend. So here's a question: Are you often too shy to make the first move, even online?

Axis of Evil..

It's not about GWB this time , it's about "Axis of Evil Comedy Tour".

Ahmed Ahmed , Aron Kader and Maz Jobrani are talented standup comedians that share a middle-eastern background and are on a tour in the states.I saw them on Al Jazeera's "From Washington" a couple of days ago , they're hilarious. They talk about everything , starting with politics and ending with sarcastic comments on our arabic-mediterenian culture.
I hope they tour the middle east. Best wishes to them.

Here's a clip I found for them

About Jerusalem..

You can not help but fall in love in this beautiful holy city . It's just sad how I'm a prisoner in my own "Home" . Being a Palestinian-Jordanian that rose up in Saudi Arabia , Jerusalem held my best memories as a kid. Every summer as we went there, we met cousines and relatives , literally the whole family. The old city -especially "Bab El 3amood"- is my ultimate passion , I could sit there on the stairs for hours without being bored . Then there's that Music store right on ur left hand , and as you go on there's this shop that sells the most delicious peanuts ever... I could go on mentioning all the shops there until you reach Al Aqsa , just meters away from my Grandfather's house.

Oh Jerusalem , how did we loose you?

As you enter through the gate of "Al 7aram" , You would see The Dome of the Rock in front of you , it just digs deep inside your heart forming a scene that you will never forget.

Just on the other side , there's Al Aqsa Mosque , beautiful mosque , beautiful architecture.
And it's falling apart , a brick today , a wall tomorrow. Sad .

More pictures here.

And here lies a fact , people are leaving . It's really sad . Ramsey Tesdell says it all here.
As for me , Jerusalem is where I want to be . I want my children to grow there , yes they may suffer, but at least they will know how valuable Palestine is.

Dad.

A while ago a freind of mine popped out a question : "Who do you love more, Your Mom or your Dad? " , I immediately answered "My Dad" .. and actually most were shocked since a girl's best freind is her mom , but still this doesn't mean I don't adore my mom. It's just , as I'm studying here in Jordan and my parents are away I just fall into tears everytme I remember how far I'm away from Dad. I talk to mom everyday and I do miss her alot , but Dad is just another story. He's the reason behind my life , behind all this . I wouldn't forgive myself if I failed him , I never would. He's been a true motive for me to stay in med school , everytime I was down I would just remember his words about where he wants us to be in life , more successful than he is , which no one else would allow us to be other than him. Still I couldn't be more successful than he is cuz he's just at the top . I love my dad , I adore him. Yes he has some mood tempers which frustrated me as a teenager , and yes he wasn't submissive to all my demands a couple of years ago , but I just recently realized and truly beleived that it was for my best. Thank you Dad.
